Dr. Danijela Stojković worked on the synthesis of propylenediamine derivatives of some amino acids, as well as corresponding palladium(II) complexes with the aforementioned derivatives. The synthesized derivatives and complexes were characterized and their biological activity was examined. The interactions of palladium(II) complexes with biologically significant molecules (human serum albumin – HSA and deoxyribonucleic acid – DNA) were determined. Due to the wide range of biological activities that thiazole derivatives show, Dr. Danijela Stojković synthesized new complexes of palladium (II) and platinum (II) ions with some 2-aminothiazoles. For this series of ligands and complexes, biological studies have been completed and studies of interactions of platinum(II) complexes with biologically significant DNA and HSA molecules are in preparation.
