Jovana’s study focuses on the systematics and morpho-anatomical characteristics of fungi, with a special emphasis on macromycetes, and the demonstration of their biological diversity in the territory of Serbia. In addition to the classical research that contributes to the expansion of knowledge about the diversity of fungi in Serbia, the researcher investigates the chemical composition of macromycetes and evaluates their biomedical potential (screening for antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-hyperglycemic, neuroprotective, cytotoxic activities) to find new biologically active substances of natural origin and their potential application in medicine and industry.
