For several years now, Labena d.o.o. is an active partner and supporter in the regional development of science. This year, Labena and 10xGenomics gave the opportunity to win a Grant for projects that carry out single-cell analysis. Applications were open to all scientists from the Labena area – Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro. The grants committee selected the 3 best project applications.
Among the winners of the Labena 10xGenomics Grant are our colleagues from the Institute of Information Technologies – Nevena Milivojević and dr Marko Živanović in cooperation with prof. Dr. Biljana Ljujić from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Kragujevac and Dr. Valentina Đorđević from the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGI) of the University of Belgrade. The title of their project is: Deciphering the effects of polystyrene nanoparticles using lab-on-chip technology and transcriptome profiling.
Labena d.o.o. was founded in 1993 as a supplier of laboratory equipment for the fields of pharmacy, medicine and natural sciences. With their knowledge and expertise, they provide solutions for diagnostic, research and development laboratories throughout Southeast Europe. They have a well-equipped laboratory for various molecular biology techniques, which includes, among other things, single-cell technology. The laboratory for molecular biology is located in Ljubljana, Slovenia- BIASeparations CRO laboratory, where the experiments from the project will be performed.
